Psychiatric consultant and psychotherapist at Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. In 1998 she joined the Tavistock Trauma Service, where from 2008 she served as lead clinician. She is a psychoanalyst who also has training in trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
She has extensive experience in psychotherapy with patients with complex trauma and dissociation. Dr. Stubley is co-chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ expert group on child sexual abuse. She is the author of numerous publications on trauma and co-editor (with Linda Young) of the book „Complex Trauma: The Tavistock Model” (2022), which has been translated into Polish and published (2025) by the Gdańsk Foundation of the Pomeranian Centre for Psychotraumatology. The book was nominated for the „Gravida Award” — a prize awarded by the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis (NAAP).
